General Rehearsals for Buwan ng Wika

Buwan Ng Wika is a celebration held in August. Buwan Ng Wika is often celebrating in schools, one of which is the CDE Center. The CDE Center will also celebrate Buwan Ng Wika. So, the Teacher at the CDE Center prepares to celebrate Buwan Ng Wika.

So, the children have done General rehearsals so that they can perform optimally while celebrating Buwan Ng Wika.Me, Cindy and the teachers at the CDE Center also participated in rehearsals the children to perform at the Buwan Ng Wika event. Each class performed a dance.

CDE Center has three classes that is Nursery, Pre Kinder, and Kinder Class. Nursery class be trained by teacher Joey, teacher Aubrey and Cindy.

Kinder class children be trained by teacher Nicol and Teacher Kaji. All the children practiced on the stage, they were very happy to dance on the stage. We were very entertained to see the children dancing happily.

Class Observation at the CDE Center (Nursery)

The second class that we have observed is the nursery class. Nursery Class is a class for children aged 3-4 years. The students of nursery class is 12 children. This nursery class also have classroom rules.

One of the teachers in the nursery class is Teacher Aubrey. The activities start with free play, so children play as they wish. Some play blocks, play sea animals, play cooking, etc.

After playing, they start a circle time activity that start with praying. Then, checking the attendance, date, and weather. So, one of the children in the nursery class, checks the weather by looking out the window then tells the teacher how the weather.

Next, enter lesson 1 / activity 1, then snack time, but I and cindy also ate with the children, because we are given food by the teacher in the nursery class.

After finished snack time, the children start reading time, they readed books they like. We accompanied the children while readed the book. The next activity is story time. Story time is the activity of teachers readed story books for children to listen . After that, lesson 2. Last activity is outdoor play. Before the children come out for outdoor play, children’s hands are always stamped first as a form of teacher appreciation for children. After the children outdoor play activities, they go home if the guardians of their students have arrived. If they haven’t arrived, they will return to class to play while waiting for their pickup.

The first week was the observation class at the CDE Center (Kindergarten). The Kindergarten class is a class for children aged 5-6 years. The students in this kinder class is 20 students. When we entered the Kinder class, there were children who were writing, drawing and those playing. This activity is free play activities.

After the free play activity is a circle time activity. Circle time is an activity that starts with praying, singing various children’s songs, and preparing before entering Lesson 1 / activity 1.

After finishing circle time, it is continued with Lesson 1 / activity 1. In this activity the children learn about various games in the Philippines language. The name of the game is Piko and Tumbang Preso. Then the children practice the game one by one.

After finishing playing, it’s snack time. So, the children ate with their friends. I and Cindy helped the children who had difficulty opening the food they brought.

We are very happy to join the activities in the Kindergarten class.

Orientation about Child Development Education Center at University of Asia and The Pacific

The orientation about child development education at the University of Asia and the Pacific was held on Tuesday, 20 August 2019. At 09.00 we arrived at Campus, we toured in the campus to know in this campus area. After that, we were the dean and rector of the University of Asia and the Pacific as a form of self-introduction.

Then, we headed to ALB Dining Hall for the implementation of orientation about SED, CDE Center, Internship, and ground rules. We be given famplets about the university of Asia and the facific, Child Development Education (CDE), and Id Card Also.

After internship, we had lunch at ALB Dining Hall together with the Dean, Dr. Angelito Antonio, Ms. Lexi, Ms. Kat, and teacher at CDE Center. My lunch is rice, chicken, vegetables, and drinking juice. I really like Filipino food.

one o ‘clock in the afternoon, we observed the class at the CDE Center (Pre kinder). Pre kinder children cheerfully welcome us. So, We are very happy. During the observations, we very enjoyed because learning in the classroom was very fun. The teacher in the Pre kinder class is Teacher Nina. She is very good at handled all activities in the class. I feel very lucky can to have this valuable experience.

Welcome to Manila City

I can’t believe have the opportunity to went to the Philippines and this is my new experience departed only by myself.

Departed to Balikpapan City

My journey starts from Tarakan (my hometown) to Jakarta (the capital city of Indonesia) but the transit is the Balikpapan city with a transit time of 50 minutes. Then, arrived in Jakarta city at noon. I just waited at the airport because the time of departured to the Philippines was at night.

During the trip to went to the Philippines at night, everything went uneventful. So, I arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International airport in the morning. When I arrived at the airport, I was picked up by Ms. Kat and Teacher Nina. They are very kind in welcoming me. Then, they invited me to breakfast at Jollibee. After finished breakfast, we immediately went to the terminal 1 to pick up Cindy (one of the student from Indonesia) who was internship with me at University of Asia and The Pacific (UAP). Over time, Cindy arrived at the airport. Then, we immediately went to our residence during the internship.

We will be staying at the millenia suites orthigas hotel. Our room number is 905 E. Me and Cindy are in one room. When entered the room, that in the makeup mirror there was a welcoming reception on our arrival. We are very happy.

A few minutes later, we headed for CDE (Child Development Education), we will internship at CDE. Next, the introduction of the University of Asia and The Pacific (UAP) and neighborhoods such as shops, minimarkets, canteen, also restaurants.
